Bon Air Weekday is a faith-based preschool serving as a ministry of Bon Air Baptist Church. We are serving families in our community by providing a Christ-centered environment dedicated to nurturing your child’s intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development.
Bon Air Weekday offers classes for one-year-olds through five-year-old Pre-Kindergarten children. Classes begin September 8 and end May 28. We offer a morning program running from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm and an extended day program ending at 3:00pm.
Each day will include group time, center play, stories, outside time, unit theme learning activities, art projects, and music. We incorporate Biblical principles throughout the day and in chapel. Our extended day students will have opportunities for music and art enrichment. Parents are responsible for all snacks and lunches, and we maintain a nut-free environment.
Our Religiously Exempt Child Day Centers licensing is through the Virginia Department of Education. Annual inspections are done by Chesterfield County Fire, State Health Department and Social Services. Every staff member has a criminal background check including fingerprinting through the National Registry and submits an annual physician statement. Annually, our teachers participate in a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education.

The classes offered at Bon Air Weekday
This is a brief overview of the age level classes available at Bon Air Weekday. Each year builds on the next with age-appropriate activities and lessons. All age groups’ curriculum will have a Bible component using character building activities, skills for good living and Bible lessons.
Happy Crabs (One year old by 9/30/25) – Two, Three or Five days per week. Focus on “happy” separation and socialization skills. They will work on strengthening gross motor skills, singing, dancing, and collaborative play. There is a snack time each morning, interactive projects (including sticker art, easel painting and more) and one-on-one with the teacher.
Bumble Bees (Two years old by 9/30/25) – Two, Three, or Five days per week. They work on color and shape recognition, peer interaction, following directions and rules, and fine motor skill development. Their day takes on a bit more structure and includes group time, project time, snack, and a brief quiet time. They will have outdoor time to run, climb, dig, and play with friends. Not required to be potty trained.
Fish or Penguin (Three years old by 9/30/25) - Two, Three or Five days per week. We focus on manners and social skills needed in a classroom setting. Letter and number recognition, number skills, color and shape reinforcement, gross and fine motor skill development, and predicting outcomes are important areas of the curriculum. The daily schedule includes group time, projects, centers, outdoor play, and snacks. Must be fully potty trained.
Turtle or Owl (Four years old by 9/30/25) – Three or Five days per week. They will work on social, emotional, and academic kindergarten readiness to include continuing letter and number skills, sorting, charting, enhanced fine motor skills, following multi-step instructions, classroom manners and following rules. There is daily outdoor time for running and playing, and snack time. The children stay busy all day as they work toward kindergarten readiness.
