The Ministry of Worship and Music at Bon Air Baptist Church is continually being built upon a biblical/theological foundation which teaches us our threefold purpose: to glorify God, to equip and edify believers, and to witness to the lost. All our traditions, practices, and tastes must submit to the instructions given to us by the Holy Spirit and by His written Word.
In worship services at Bon Air Baptist, the person in the congregation is the most important participant in worship. We design our worship to enable everyone who attends to express themselves to God and others through music, prayers, readings, communion, and other acts of worship. The upfront leaders aren’t interested in “performing” for you, but in joining with you to exalt our worthy Lord!
The Ministry of Worship and Music takes the lead in teaching Christians about worship and providing both opportunity and encouragement to worship. The ministry is designed such that each member of the entire congregation has the opportunity to participate, by means of music and the arts, in God’s work through our church.
All organizations in the Ministry of Worship and Music endeavor to be organisms of affirmation, teaching, and equipping. Christ has called us to make disciples, not just converts. We believe in theologically strong and biblically correct music. We are highly committed to quality music and church music education, as well as proper training in musical skills.
Just as Christians individually are called upon to be witnesses, one of the roles of our Worship and Music Ministry is to share the gospel through music in a variety of styles and locations. To this end, we participate in and support music mission endeavors locally, domestically, and internationally.
“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
Colossians 3:16 KJV

"Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs."
Psalm 100:2, NIV
Our Sanctuary Choir volunteers use the universal language of music to bring peace, joy, and the gospel of Christ to its listeners. While not an auditioned group, we strive very hard to present as excellent of a musical offering to Him as possible because we believe God deserves nothing less than our best. Requirements are only a commitment to God’s calling and basic musical skills.
In addition to leading worship in our Sunday Traditional congregational worship services at 11:00 a.m., the Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra present special programs throughout the year including Christmas and Easter.
Rehearsal - Come Sing With Us!
The choir meets at the Buford Road Campus each Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. to rehearse.
Many choir members do not have formal training and they do not read music. Songs are provided online so you can practice at home anytime.
We welcome all those who are passionate about worship to join in our rehearsals on Wednesday evening. Let us know if you want to get involved!
Rehearsals are full of praise, energy, and camaraderie as we worship Christ through music!
Orchestra
The Bon Air Baptist Church Orchestra is open to musicians with qualified skills and experience. Providing a wonderful avenue of worship and playing for instrumentalists, we play all styles of music at the highest level and are looking for additional string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players.
Other Opportunities
There are many ways to be involved in music at Bon Air Baptist Church including children’s music, student worship ministry, and handbells for adults and students.
