Swannanoa Palace, Afton Mountain - private 2 hour historical tour of this "summer home" built in 1912 by James Dooley for his wife, Sallie May Dooley, of Richmond’s Maymont Park.

Swannanoa is an exquisite 52 room marble mansion.  The Tiffany-stained glass window of Sallie May Dooley is the largest Tiffany found in any private home in America.

Bus departs at 9:15 AM  - $30/pp

Followed by lunch at Stella, Bella & Lucy's in Waynesboro (pay on your own)

Virginia Czech & Slovak Folklife Festival            Prince George County Regional Heritage Center, 6406 Courthouse Road, Prince George, VA  

Travel time  - 40 minutes

Bus departs - 10:15 AM - $10/pp

11 AM – 4 PM festival hours -Bring $$ for  food/drinks.

This festival features musical performances, polka dancing, farm life exhibits, and fun activities.  Step into a world of rich history and vibrant culture with authentic and delicious foods prepared using old family recipes.  The buffet will include dishes such as goulash, roast pork, dumplings, vegetables and several pastries.

Learn the story of the Czech & Slovak families who transformed abandoned farmland into a thriving community in the late 1800s.  Explore the agricultural exhibits, and take time to view the Czech & Slovak Gallery which features captivating stories and photographs.  Be sure to check out the gift shop where you will find a treasure trove of Czech glass, books, handmade items, art, and much more.
