The Mariners’ Museum and Park in Newport News is designated as America’s National Maritime Museum by Congress.
It features extensive collections on maritime history, art, and technology, including the USS Monitor Center where the turret and cannon from the famous Civil War ironclad can be seen.
From inspiring stories of mariners who risked it all for freedom to true tales of man conquering the wild seas, indoor galleries will spark curiosity, wonder, and an appreciation for our shared maritime heritage.
We will enjoy a docent led highlights tour followed by lunch on site in the Column 15 Cafe (pay on your own) as well as a film.
