About Charles
Charles Humphries' music career began in the United Kingdom as a 7-year-old chorister at Salisbury Cathedral and since those days’ music has taken him to all parts of the globe. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, he was honored with the letters ARAM (Associate Royal Academy of Music) for his services to music. Having trained as an international opera singer and concert and recitalist, he also focused on his keyboard skills and continued to study the piano and organ which has led him to offer his skills and musicianship as director of church music programs up and down the East Coast in all denominations of the church. His teachers and mentors have included the likes of English organists Colin Walsh and Christopher Moore, and in the US he has had workshops with Robert McCormick, and Charles Lindsey to name a couple. Equally comfortable on the bench as well as in front of the singers, Charles is excited to be joining Bon Air Baptist Church.
