Recreation Ministry Director

I’m Rebecca Madison, currently, the Recreation Director for Bon Air Baptist Church. I have served here for 16 years starting in May of 2008. I have a master’s degree in teaching and a bachelor’s degree in history. I taught history and social studies in the classroom for four years, high school and middle school, in Chesterfield County. One Sunday during church service, I noticed the job of Recreation Director in the bulletin. I felt such a calling when I saw the opening! I loved teaching, but Recreation is my passion along with my love for Jesus, and I set out to apply for the position. Another passion I have is soccer. I played for UCF and VCU during college and was able to use my coaching/playing experience to run soccer clinics in Africa for a BABC mission trip during the World Cup in 2010. The biggest part of my job at BABC is the Upward Basketball Ministry. We impact between 300-350 players and their families each season. We partner with Bon Air United Methodist, so with two locations we see over 1000 people come through our doors on Saturdays during January and February. My husband, Bobby, and I have five boys that fill our lives with unspeakable joy. They all love sports of any kind and will often come to the gym to play basketball or pickleball. If you’re interested in participating in the recreation ministry, reach out and let’s have a conversation.
