Interim Administrative Pastor
Hello, my name is Rev. Deborah Upton. I currently serve as Interim Administrative Pastor for Bon Air Baptist Church. During my 40 + years of ministry, I have served as a Christian educator for every age group, a missionary, a Children’s Pastor, and a Discipleship Pastor. It has been my joy and privilege to come alongside people of all ages and to support them in their spiritual growth. What a great calling!
My biggest accomplishment in life has been marrying “the catch of the Averett campus,” Rev. Dr. John Upton, so many years ago. Together, we’ve shared a fun life of ministry and family—3 fantastic children now with their own families, including 8 grandchildren! It can’t get better than that!
My hobbies include doing anything with my grandchildren, eating Chinese food, sewing for missions, relaxing at the beach or a river, reading a good book, and traveling anywhere with John.
